1. meanwhile = in the mean time在此期间、在同时
Theyve arranged to have another meeting in two weeks, and meanwhilethe problem is getting worse and worse!

2. presently 目前、现在
Of 200 boats, only 20 are presentlyoperational.

Three sites are presently under consideration for the new hotel.
现在这家新餐馆的地址选择有三个地址在考虑中。
presently习惯放于be动词或助动词之后。
3. immediately = as soon as 一就
Ill call you immediatelyI hear anything.
我一有哪些消息就给你打电话。
immediately也有立刻的意思，在这里推荐的是另一个使用方法哦!
4. previously 先前地、以前地
She was previouslyemployed as a tour guide.
她以前受聘当导游。
I had posted the card two monthspreviously.
我两个月以前就把那张卡片寄出去了。
5. in the past 在过去
In the past, this sort of work was all done by hand.
在过去，这种工作完全是人工完成的。
6. subsequently 接着、随之
In 1982 he was arrested and subsequentlyconvicted on drug trafficking charges.
他在1982年被捕，随之被定运送毒品之罪。
7. eventually 最后
Although she had been ill for a long time, it still came as a shock when sheeventually died.
虽然她已病了好长期，但当她最后过世时，大家仍然感到很震撼。
语法补充：Eventually 和 finally的不同:
用finally 表达列表中的最后一个项目、讲述的最后一点或是表达某事「终于达成」(有高兴或松一口气之意味)。
用eventually表示in the end(在最后)，一般是用于长期、下不少功夫或是遇见不少问题的事件。
8. currently 现在
Mr. Cooper is currentlyunavailable. Would you like to leave a message?
Cooper先生现在没办法接听电话，请问你要留言吗?
